I've been feeling great these last few days. Let's recap the last week, eh? The house here in Millvale was a disaster. Junk laying about. It wasn't gross or necessarily unclean, but it was messy. The kitchen, on the other hand, was kind of gross. I've been on keto for a few weeks, so I've been cooking a lot. With it being summer, I haven't been throwing away food waste, rather I've been refrigerating it to avoid drawing bugs into the house. But it seems that plan failed. Tuesday night, I noticed flies everywhere in our kitchen and a slight odor. I took the trash out to the outside can and put in a new one. I assumed that to be the end of it. Nick and I chased flies around the house. We killed a bunch. Next day didn't do any better. Nick and I cleaned the whole downstairs area top to bottom. Behind the refrigerator, above each cabinet. Everything. It turned out nice. I feel the place is clean, it's refreshing. But the flies haven't stopped. Thursday morning, I didn't work. Weekend shift affords me a few weekdays off. I found the air conditioner hose had come out of the window again. Later that morning, Nick noticed flies sneaking in via that window. Turns out; having a gaping hole in the window allowed a lot of bugs in. I put some screws in the hose and it's solid now. Hopefully, this nightmare ends here. To continue on, Wednesday and Thursday contained lots of Pathfinder. We visited Game Masters on Babcock and hung out with Phil for a bit. He's an amazing store owner and I can't praise his shop enough. GMing Pathfinder is a fun hobby and when the players show passion for the game, I can get more into it. And the players are really hype right now because cool story is happening in our longest running campaign. Beyond that, yesterday was a perfect day. I woke up and streamed Albert Odyssey (for the Sega Saturn) for an hour or so.
Killed a vampire! Shortly after, the roommate Nick got home and was in an awful mood. I asked if he wanted to do anything, and he suggested Tetris. Ok. I crushed him in Tetris for a while before we switched to Dr. Mario. Chris got home from work after a while of that, and we went back and forth for the three of us playing some VERY competitive Dr. Mario. I approached the 28th hour of my keto fasting before 7:30 rolled around and I was going to hit up Korean bbq with Lawrence and Broccoli. The KBBQ was perfection. The place we always go for it had stopped doing bbq in house because of customer problems with it. Despite that, we were recognized by the owner's wife since we've been there before and were good customers. She allowed us to do the bbq! That place is awesome. So we ate very well! I ruined the restroom of a Five Guys in Oakland afterwards because keto does weird things to my intestines. Got home and Chris challenged me to yet more Dr. Mario. Nick joined us once he noticed I was home. We kicked butt in Dr. Mario, then switched back to Tetris. Things got very competitive. Nick and Chris are so closely matched in that! The only downside of yesterday was that I didn't invite Nick to the dinner. He's in financial ruin right now and I couldn't afford that for two. If you're ever reading this, my friend, know that I'm really sorry. But today is a work day. I'm re-coding this blog, digging heavily into PHP and feeling great about it. I broke keto in preparation for Otakon next week this morning, too. Guess we'll see what happens from here. Six more hours of work and I can enjoy a week of proper vacation!
